Aida's Secrets - Documentary Film - 2 December 2017
Many of you will have seen the notice in the recent Newsletter about the showing of the film Aida's Secrets at Pinner Synagogue on 2nd December. I understand that the start time has now been brought forward to 7.15pm. Please see the revised notice below.
*** Start time changed to 7.15pm ***
At our recent Silver Jubilee social event, Laurence Harris, a former Chairman of our Society, gave a talk on “Finding Szepsyl – research leading to two brothers, separated as babies in Bergen-Belsen Displaced Persons (DP) camp, being reunited after more than 65 years”.
The story of these two brothers and their mother, Aida, has been made into a documentary film called Aida’s Secrets. This film also includes some wonderful, rarely seen, original film footage of life in the post-liberation DP camp of Bergen-Belsen in the period 1945–1948. The film is being shown on the evening of Saturday 2 December 2017 at Pinner Synagogue, 1 Cecil Park, Pinner, Middlesex, HA5 5HJ.
Arrangements have been made for a limited number of places to be made available to JGSGB members to attend. Please arrive by 7.00pm for the 7.15pm screening. A question-and-answer session with Laurence will follow the screening. Tickets £6. Light refreshments provided. If you wish to attend then please book using https://myus.theus.org.uk/events/51899/pinner-synema or email Laurence Harris laurence@lizlo.com.  For various reasons, including security, you must book your place by no later than 30 November 2017.
