There is an extensive collection of
Genealogical Magazines from Societies all over the world collected over
the last ten years, which includes Avotaynu
(the world's largest circulation magazine devoted to Jewish genealogy).
There is a substantial collection of
memorial books, mainly Hebrew and Yiddish available on request. Recent
acquisitions include books issued by the Dutch Genealogical Society giving
Births Marriages and Deaths records for Amsterdam & Rotterdam from
the 17th century for both Sephardim and Ashkenazim and a selection published
by French Genealogical Societies. The library is constantly being added
to by purchase and by gifts from members. We are also appealing to our
members who have duplicates of Genealogical books, or ones they no longer
require, to donate them to the Library.
The Library is located in Central London, near Marble Arch, and
is for the use of members only, or those who pay £5 which is refundable
against membership. Members do not need to advise in advance if
they plan to come to the Library on one of the regular opening days. The Library
is open approximately three times per month. The dates of opening are
shown on the current Programme of Activities.
