Kathryn Michael & Ray Montanjees are delighted to announce the return of the Dutch and Sephardi SIG (Special Interest Group).
We are planning on have meetings as hybrid – so we’ll be meeting in person and on Zoom.
When you have registered for the session you will be sent the address of the location in Hertfordshire.
Our first meeting will be a chance for us to start getting to know each other, finding out areas of interest, breaking down brick walls and possibly connecting with cousins.
My list of Dutch websites is not very long – so, if everyone could send me details of any Dutch sites they use so we can circulate a fuller list amongst our members.
People can add contributions to the list as we move forward.
We would also like to update the Dutch Family Finder (I still have the one from 2001). Rather than just submitting surnames and cities, we thought we would add a twist. If you could put these column headings into an Excel spreadsheet and complete with all of your oldest Dutch relatives, also including those that go back beyond Netherlands into Germany or elsewhere. I will then put the results together and when I get two or more people with the same ancestors – I will email you and let you know.
We should end up with quite a large and interesting spreadsheet, I have all of my 5th great grandparents on my mother’s maternal line and some of those that go back into Germany to 7th great grandparents.
