The Association for Central European Jewish History and Genealogy was established in September 2025 and is dedicated to to advancing the study of Jewish history and genealogy across the lands of the former Habsburg Empire / Austria-Hungary and its successor states.
We bring together researchers, academics, and passionate enthusiasts from around the world who share a love for these interconnected histories.
Our mission is to foster collaboration, develop better tools and databases to support interdisciplinary research, and create a vibrant, inclusive community for like-minded people where knowledge and ideas can flourish.

About Mattan Segev-Frank
Mattan Segev-Frank is a Historian, Genealogist and Storyteller
With a passion for uncovering the hidden stories of the past, he has dedicated over 17 years to Jewish genealogy, transforming a simple curiosity into a profession that spans generations and continents. His journey through his own Genealogical Jungle began in 2007, and today, he proudly maintain a comprehensive family database containing over 73,000 individuals, primarily focusing on the genealogies of the Jewish communities throughout Central Europe.
Mattan holds a BFA in Film and Television and an MA in Jewish History from Tel Aviv University, where I graduated with honours, specializing in Jewish history and genealogy of the former Austrian-Hungarian Empire.
