Israel has many archives with documents from Jewish communities from the Mediterranean Basin. The Israel Genealogy Research Association (IGRA) has made it an aim to gather such material dealing with the residents of communities from the countries around the Mediterranean Basin from which the Jews may or may not have immigrated to Palestine. As of today, 5% of IGRA's collection includes materials dealing with the Jewish residents of Morocco, Tunis, Egypt, Syria, Bulgaria, Lebanon, Greece and others.
