Dear Members and Friends,

Have you ever looked at an old family passport and wondered what stories the stamps and scribbles were trying to tell you?

The Manchester Group of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Great Britain (JGSGB) invites you to a special, interactive afternoon at the Manchester Jewish Museum. We’ll be diving deep into the paper trails our ancestors left behind, exploring how travel documents serve as vital keys to unlocking your family’s past.

3:00 PM – 3:30 PM | Refreshment Break: Connect with fellow researchers over tea and coffee.

3:30 PM – 4:30 PM | Interactive "Show and Tell": This is where the history comes to life! We invite you to share your own family documents. Whether it's a weathered visa or a multi-page passport, every document has a story.

How to Participate in the Show & Tell

To make the most of our interactive session, we encourage you to share your documents in one of two ways:

Digital (Recommended): Email images of your documents to manchester.genealogy@gmail.com ahead of time. This allows us to project them onto the big screen so everyone can see the details clearly during the discussion.

In-Person: Bring your original documents or high-quality photocopies with you on the day.
