Hertfordshire Group

The Hertfordshire JGSGB Group is one of the newest of the JGSGB Regional Groups, serving JGSGB Members and non-Members in their local areas. The Group is one of seven JGSGB groups across England.

The inaugural meeting of the Hertfordshire JGSGB Regional Group took place at 3pm on Sunday 30th March 2014 at the Welwyn Garden City Synagogue Barn Close Handside Lane Welwyn Garden City Herts AL8 6ST. Regular meetings of the Hertfordshire Group have also taken place since then at the Welwyn Garden City Synagogue and also at the St Albans Masorti Synagogue at 9, The Dencora Centre, Campfield Road, St Albans AL1 5HN. Our latest venue is the Shenley United Synagogue.

There have been talks on a diverse range of topics from DNA to using Polish State Archives to obtain records. The group has also held genealogy workshops to help people progress their research.

Meetings are mainly in-person, but did take place using Zoom during the pandemic and shortly afterwards.
